BW Wrestlers Fall to No. 30 Mount Union

BEREA, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team fell to No. 30th-ranked (Brute-Adidas National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III poll) University of Mount Union, 38-4, tonight (Tuesday, January 22, 2013) in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fell to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the OAC.  With the win, the Purple Raiders improved to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the OAC.

BW was led by freshmen and number eight-nationally ranked 125-pounder Jesse Gunter (Akron/Coventry) who won by major decision over Brad Kress, 10-1. Gunter improved his overall record to 22-1 on the season and has won 20 straight matches.

BW is back in action this Saturday, January 26 when it travels to Greenville, Pennsylvania to compete in the Mel Berry Duals hosted by Thiel College at 10:00 a.m. The next home event is on Saturday, February 2 when the  Yellow Jackets host the 27th Annual John Summa Memorial Tournament in the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse at 10:00 a.m.
