ACADEMIC MAJOR:   Chemistry

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  As a junior in 2015-16, Maddie played her third season of lacrosse. The three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder earned her third varsity letter. 

ACADEMIC HONORS: Maddie carries a 3.96 grade point average, is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society,

CoSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT 7:  As a junior in 2015-2016, Maddie earned first-team CoSIDA Division III Academic All-District 7 At-Large honors. It qualifies her for the CoSIDA Division III National Academic All-America ballot.

ACADEMIC ALL-OAC:  As a sophomore in 2014-2015 and junior in 2015-2016, Maddie earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors.

IWLCA ALL-REGION:  As a sophomore in 2014-2015 and junior in 2015-2016, Maddie was a second-team IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association) second-team All-Great Lakes Region pick. 

ALL-OAC: Maddie is a three-time first-team All-OAC selection (freshman, sophomore and junior). As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Maddie was the OAC Defensive Player of the Year.  

BW ATHLETICS AWARDS:  As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Maddie was the BW Most Valuable Player 

SCHOOL-RECORDS:  Maddie owns BW single-game school-records for assists (eight in 2016), most ground balls (13 in 2014) and caused turnovers (eight on three separate occassions). She owns season school-records for caused turovers (58 in 2013-2014) and Free Position Goals (20 in 2013-2014). Maddie owns current career marks for points scored (125), goals scored (84), ground balls (148), draw controls (90), caused turnovers (106) and free position goals  (26).

GENERAL LACROSSE INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2013-2014, Maddie played her first season of lacrosse and earned her first varsity letter. She started all 18 games, scored 55 goals and had 24 assists for 79 points and was second on the team in all three catagories. She also set BW single-season school-records for caused turnovers (58) and Free-position goals (20). She also had 40 draw controls and 96 ground balls. Maddie was named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week on March 31 for her efforts in wins versus Franciscan University, Hilbert (N.Y.) College and Olivet (Mich.) College. BW set a single-season school-record with 14 victories, finished 14-4 overall and advanced to the OAC Championship Match.

As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Maddie played her second season of lacrosse and earned her second letter. She was a first-team All-OAC selection and the OAC Defensive Player of the Year. Maddie also was a second-team IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association) second-team All-Great Lakes Region pick and the BW Most Valuable Player. She played in all 14 games, including 10 starts, and scotred a team-leading 29 goals with 17 assists (second) for a team-high 46 points. She also led the team with 52 ground balls, 50 draw controls, 48 caused turnovers and six free position goals. BW finished 8-6 overall and advanced to the OAC Championship Game for the second straight year.

As a junior in 2015-2016, Maddie played her third season of lacrosse and earned her third letter. She earned her third first-team All-OAC accolade. Maddie played in all 18 games, scored 30 goals and added 26 assists for 56 points. Maddie also caused a team-high 33 turnovers and tallied up a team-high 64 ground balls. In a non-conference game versus Southwestern (Texas) University she set a school-record with eight assists and scored one goal for a career-high nine points.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Maddie grew up in Lakewood, Ohio and graduated from Rocky River High School. She was inducted into the R.R.H.S. Hall of Fame in 2015.

Maddie was a three-year starter and letter winner who earned first-team All-District and second-team All-Ohio honors in 2012. She also was the Rocky River H.S. Most Valuable Player in 2013 and scored the most goals and points for the Pirates.

Maddie also played soccer for four years, including in the Virgin Islands in the spring of 2010. She was the soccer R.R.H.S. MVP.

FAMILY CONNECTION:  Maddie is the daughter of BW Head Coach Kim Russell.
