BW Women’s Lacrosse Picked Third in OAC Preseason Poll

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team was picked to finish third in the 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Polls.

The Yellow Jackets, who finished with a school-record 14 wins and a 14-4 overall record a year ago, advanced to the OAC Tournament Championship game and were one victory shy of qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Tournament.

Head Coach Kim Russell,
who is 18-10 overall and 3-1 in the OAC in her first two seasons, returns 11 letter winners and six starters from last year's team.  Leading this year's group will be sophomore All-OAC attack Maddie Russell (Lakewood/ Rocky River) and sophomore All-OAC midfielder Katie Kocher (Rocky River).  

Russell
 was second on team a year ago with 55 goals, 24 assists and 79 total points.  Kocher led the team with a school-record 49 assists and scored 10 goals and for 59 total points.

The Yellow Jackets open the season on Saturday, February 28 against Albion (Mich.) College in the first game of a women's and men's non-conference doubleheader on Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 12 p.m. The first OAC contest is on Friday, April 3 at Wilmington College at 1 p.m.
