Getto Garners First Career OAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Accolade

BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University sophomore women's lacrosse goalkeeper Amanda Getto (Medina) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defender of the Week.

Getto earned her first career honor after leading the Yellow Jackets to a pair of OAC wins against Muskingum University (20-1) and Capital University (8-6) last week.

In goal, she started both games, logged 90 minutes of action, faced 26 total shots, allowed seven goals and made 11 saves. In addition, Getto saw her first action of her career in the field in the second half against Muskingum and scored the first three goals of her career.

This season, she has appeared and started in all 12 games in goal and has an overall record of 7-5. Getto has logged 734 minutes of action, allowed 104 goals and made 107 saves.

BW, who is the number three seed in the OAC Tournament, is back in action on Wednesday, April 29 when it travels to University Heights for an OAC semifinals game against the number two seeded and cross-town rival John Carroll University Blue Streaks on Wasmer Field inside Don Shula Stadium at 7 p.m.

The winner of the game will advance to the OAC Championship game on Saturday, May 2 on the campus of the highest remaining seed.
