Cody Hartzler enters his 10th overall season and fifth as associate head women's basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at Baldwin Wallace Universityin 2024-25.  He served as assiant head coach for his first five seasons.

 

Hartzler was awarded the BW Women's Athletics Coach of the Year in 2015-16 and was named a WBCA Thirty Under 30 presented by Mariott Rewards® honoree in March of 2017. He was just one of four NCAA Division III coaches to receive the honor. 

Hartzler came to BW after spending two years as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Washington and Jefferson (Pa.) College. While with the Presidents, he served as the recruiting coordinator, fundraising director, summer camp administrator and spring sports event manager.

Prior to Washington & Jefferson, Hartzler served as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Bluffton University for two seasons. While at Bluffton he served as the head junior varsity coach, recruiting coordinator, summer shootout administrator and the team’s academics affairs supervisor.
 
Before Bluffton, Hartzler served as the assistant men’s basketball coach for two seasons and the head men’s tennis coach for one season at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. During his tenure, he aided in recruiting, practice implementation, individual skill development and opponent preparation and served as a camp counselor.

Hartzler earned a bachelor’s degree from Kutztown (Pa.) University in leisure and sports studies and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in healthcare management from Bluffton.

As a student-athlete at Kutztown, he was a Division II All-American in the high jump, a four-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference track and field selection, a two-year team captain and Dean’s List student.
