BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College women's basketball junior forward Jessica Carpenter (North Canton/ Hoover) and sophomore guard Jessica Lairson (Louisville) have been selected (Wednesday, February 29, 2012) as All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athletes.

Carpenter earned her second straight second-team All-OAC honor.  She was the team-leader in three-point and free throw percentage as she shot 39.8% from "three-point land" (36-of-92) and 83.1% from the charity stripe (69-of-83). Carpenter averaged a career-best 11.1 points-per-game and 2.7 rpg.  She recorded a season-best 27 points in an upset win of Ohio Northern University in the season finale on February 18.

In three seasons, Carpenter has played in 76 games played, including 53 starts, and averages 9.3 ppg. and 2.0 rpg. She has scored 704 points, grabbed 155 rebounds, passed for 105 assists, made 77 three-pointers and 57 steals and blocked 10 shots. The Yellow Jackets have compiled a 54-25 record during her three seasons. 

Lairson earned her first All-OAC honor after finishing first on the team with a career-best 11.3 ppg. and with a career-high 43 steals. She finished second on the team with 22 three-pointers and was fourth on the squad in rebounding with 3.9 rpg. Lairson scored a career-best 26 points in a 55-52 victory at John Carroll University on February 8 and grabbed a season-best seven rebounds on two occasions.

In two seasons, Lairson has appeared in 53 games, including 45 starts, and averages 10.0 ppg. and 3.9 rpg. She has scored 529 points, grabbed 208 rebounds, passed for 57 assists, blocked 32 shots and made 59 steals. B-W has compiled a 36-17 record during her two seasons.

This season, Carpenter and Lairson helped the Yellow Jackets to have a solid season and compile a 17-9 overall record.
