Mackenzie Brua Hit Second Career Homerun and Had Three RBI

WOOSTER, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University softball team dropped a non-conference game to the College of Wooster at Galpin Park by a final score of 8-7. The Yellow Jackets and Fighting Scots were scheduled to play two games but the doubleheader was shortened to a single game due to rain.

BW (5-10) scored seven runs on six hits as it plated four runs in the second and three in the in the sixth. Wooster (8-9) scored eight runs on 12 hits as it plated a run in each of the fourth and fifth innings then exploded for six runs in the sixth to secure the win.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior first baseman Mackenzie Brua (Avon) as she went 1-for-4 with her second career homerun, three runs batted in (RBI) and a run scored. Senior catcher Sami Brown (Kent/Field) was 1-for-1 with a double and two RBI. Four other BW hitters provided a base knock.

On the mound, freshman Samantha Dostall (Oberlin/Firelands) pitched five innings and allowed five runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Freshman Erica Morgan (Brook Park/Midpark) pitched one inning and allowed three runs on four hits with two walks.

The Yellow Jackets next play on Saturday, March 29 when they hosts Marietta College in an Ohio Athletic Conference and home opener doubleheader at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds Field at 1 p.m. Fans can follow all of the action via live stats at http://livestats.prestosports.com/baldwinwallace/
