BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   Brittany Lightel will play her third season of softball at Baldwin Wallace University in 2013-2014. She has earned two varsity letters and is both an All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC student-athlete.

ACADEMIC HONORS:   As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Brittany was named as an Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athlete.  She carries a 3.5 grade point average and is a Dean's List student.

ATHLETIC HONORS:   As a freshman in 2011-2012, Brittany was named honorable mention All-OAC.

GENERAL SOFTBALL INFORMATION:   As a freshman in 2011-2012, Brittany played in her first season of softball and earned her first varsity letter.  She started all 38 games at shortstop and batted .352 (43-for-122) with 17 runs scored, six doubles, eight runs batted-in (RBI) and five stolen bases. For her efforts, she was named honorable mention All-Ohio Athletic Conference. BW finished 18-20 overall.

As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Brittany played her second season of softball and earned her second letter. She started 37 games at shortstop and batted .284 (31-for-109) with 23 runs scored, three doubles, one triple, her first career home run, 16 RBI and two stolen bases. For her efforts both on the field and in the classroom, Brittany earned Academic All-OAC honors. BW finished 20-18 overall.

As a junior in 2013-2014, Brittany will play her third season of softball and look to earn her third letter.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Brittany Lightel grew up in Tallmadge, Ohio and graduated from Tallmadge High School.  She played four years of softball and earned four varsity letters. She also received two letters in basketball.

In 2009, Brittany received honorable mention All-Conference honors and was tabbed first-team All-Conference as a junior and senior.
