BEREA, OHIO --  Baldwin-Wallace College spring student-athlete Tabitha Murray shared four Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards today (Monday, April 25, 2011) for their efforts during the Week of April 18-24. 

Murray is both the OAC Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Weekfor her efforts both at the plate and on the mound as she led the Yellow Jackets (21-8 overall and 9-5 in the OAC) to four straight victories. She hit .692 (9-for-13) with three runs scored, two doubles, one homerun, seven runs batted-in and a stolen base. Her slugging percentage was 1.077 and her on-base percentage was .714 overall. On the mound, Murray had a 2-0 record with complete-game wins against Heidelberg University (8-1) and Wilmington College (7-1). She pitched 14 innings, allowed eight hits and two runs (one earned) for a 0.50 earned run average with 17 strikeouts and three walks. She had a career-high 10 strikeouts versus Heidelberg.

For the season, Murray is hitting .407 (37-for-93) with 23 runs scored, five doubles, six homeruns, 23 runs batted-in and 10 stolen bases in 11 attempts. She has a .659 slugging and .455 on-base average. Murray has a 5-0 pitching record with a 1.19 ERA. In 35 and one-third innings, Murray has allowed 31 base hits, eight runs (six earned) with 30 strikeouts and eight walks. The Yellow Jackets return to play on Wednesday when they travel to Westerville to play OAC-rival Otterbein College in a doubleheader at 3:30 p.m. On Thursday, BW is supposed to travel to Bluffton, Ohio to play Alma (Mich.) College in a twinbill at 3:30 p.m., and then end the regular season at home when it hosts OAC-rival Muskingum College on Seniors' Day at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds Field at 1:00 p.m.
