Men’s Track and Field Salutes Two Senior Student-Athletes

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department and men's track and field program would like to congratulate senior student-athletes Jake Mantle and Zach Riggins on completing their outstanding athletic careers at the University.

While the NCAA has extended another year of eligibility, it is uncertain if each of these student-athlete will come back for another season or continue down their career path.  So, the University administration, faculty and staff congratulates these two young men on their outstanding athletic and academic careers as well as their leadership to the men's track and field program. The University would like to wish each of them all the best of luck in their future endeavors and hope that even after graduation that they come back and visit us often. They will always be a Yellow Jacket for Life (YJ4L).

 

Mantle is a business administration and marketing double major from North Royalton, Ohio, and a graduate from North Royalton Hills High School. The thrower earned his first varsity letter this past spring. For his career, Mantle competed in shot put, weight throw, discus throw, javelin throw, and hammer throw. In addition, he was a member of the BW football team. Mantle is the son of Bill, Jr. and Laura Mantle of North Royalton

 

 

 

 

  

Riggins is a biology major from Wexford, Pa. and a graduate from Pine-Richland High School. The distance runner will earn his first varsity letter this spring. For his career, Riggins competed in the 1-mile run; the 800, 1,000, 1,500 3,000, 5,000, 400-hurdles and 3000 steeplechase. In addition, he was a member of the men's cross country team. He is a Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection, jacket scholar, dean's list student, and member of Chi Alpha Sigma Honors Society. Riggins is the son of Phillip and Sandy Riggins of Wexford.
