Men's Track and Field Travels Across Town to Compete at the Oberlin Spring Opener

OBERLIN, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team competed at the Oberlin Spring Opener on Robert Lewis Kahn Track. 

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included: 

  • Junior ShaDaryll Clark II (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) placed second in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.19 seconds.
  • Freshmen Connor Foody (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) finished second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:02.04 placed ninth in the 400 Meter Dash in a time of 55.56. 
  • Sophomore Carter Almady (Brunswick) finished fourth in the 1500 Meter Run in a time of 4:12.40
  •  Sophomore Desmond Manley (Akron / St. Vincent-St. Mary) placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.60 and finished in 12th in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.09 seconds.
  • Junior Nick Dascani (Toledo / Springfield) placed 14th in the 5000-meter run in a time of  16:34.20.

Field events highlighted:

  • Sophomore Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) won the high jump with a height of 1.94m.
  • Clark placed ninth in the long jump with a distance of 4.96m.
  • Sophomore John Haberman (Hamburg, N.Y. / Hamburg)
  • Senior Jake Mantle (North Royalton) placed fourth in hammer throw with a distance of 42.04m.
  • Sophomore Joe Barnes (West Plains, Mo.) placed second in javelin throw with a distance 47.66m 

On the relay side:

  • The 4x400 relay squad of Foody, sophomore All-OAC Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine), Manley and Clark placed fourth in a time of 3:39.37
     

The Yellow Jackets are back in action Saturday, April 9th when it travels to Delaware for Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on George Gauthier Track.
