Men's Track and Field Takes Ninth at Marv Frye Invitational

DELAWARE, Ohio. - The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team finished ninth at the Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on George Gauthier Track inside Selby Stadium. 

BW individual events highlights included: 

  • Freshman Alex Yarian (East Canton) placed seventh in the 3000-meter steeple chase in a time of 10:36.32. 
  • Sophomore Jackson Tucker (Akron / Lake Center Christian School) placed 18th in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:19.99
  • Sophomore Desmond Manley (Akron / St. Vincent-St. Mary) placed 11th in the 400-meter dash in 52.36 seconds and 13th in 200-meter dash in 23.60 seconds. 
  • Sophomore Mason Birkbeck (Wadsworth) placed 18th in the 100-meter dash in 11.77 seconds. 
  • Freshmen Connor Foody (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) finished 12th in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:03.22. 
  • Sophomore Carter Almady (Brunswick) placed sixth in the 5000-meter run in a time of 15:51.06. 

Field events highlighted:

  • Sophomore Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) won the high jump with a height of 1.93m.
  • Sophomore Joe Barnes (West Plains, Mo.) placed second in javelin throw with a distance of 43.84.
  • Senior Jake Mantle (North Royalton) placed 17th in hammer throw with a distance 41.77m.
  • Freshmen All-OAC Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) placed 11th in shot put with a distance of 12.64m. 
  • Freshman Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) placed 9th in the discus throw with a distance on 37.29m. 

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, April 15th and Saturday, April 16 when it travels to Tiffin for to compete in the Tiffin Track Carnival hosted Heidelberg University and Tiffin University.
