WESTERVILLE, Ohio - For the first time this season and the first time in her track and field career, Freshmen All-OAC Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference field athlete of the week.
Kiesel placed second in shot put with 13.96m this past weekend at the Washington & Lee Carnival. He finished 13th in the hammer throw with a distance of 39.04m and 19th in discus throw with a distance of 36.32m. He currently leads the OAC in shot put and is ranked 20th nationally.
Before transitioning to outdoor, Kiesel ended the indoor season placing third in shot put with a distance of 14.58mat the OAC Indoor Track and Field Championships earning his first All-OAC honors.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action when it travels to Pittsburgh, PA for a two-day meet at Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Friday, March 25-26, hosted by Carnegie Mellon in Gesling Stadium.
