Men’s Tennis Competes at ITA Central Region Championships

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association over the weekend, October 1-3.

In the doubles portion, junior Trey Kernan (Penfield, N.Y.) and freshman Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) teamed up for BW (5-0) and defeated Whitman Hopper and Sebastian Cowan of Adrian (Mich.) College by a score of 8-3 to advance to the second round. In the second round Kernan and McGee dropped to the #4 nationally ranked duo of Derek Hsieh and Christian Alshon by a final score of 8-0.

In the singles portion, Kernan dropped in the round of 64 to Liam Grennon of Wabash College by scores if 6-1, 6-3. McGee got knocked off in the first round by Joe Patton of Wittenberg University with scores of 6-4, 6-4.

The Yellow Jackets are scheduled to resume play in the spring when they travel to Hilton head, S.C. for their annual spring break trip on March 6-10.
