Men’s Soccer Takes Down Earlham (Ind.)

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team took down Earlham (Ind.) College in a non-conference game by a final score of 5-0 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.

BW Leaders (8-0-1)

  • Senior midfielder Nick Surowicz (Medina/Highland) led the squad with three goals and now leads the Ohio Athletic Conference with eight goals on the season.
  • Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC defender Trevor Hamm (Strongsville) scored his first goal of the season.
  • Junior midfielder Julian Kieres (Lakewood) scored his third goal of the season.
  • Freshman midfielder Ben McCauley (Tallmadge) got his first career assist.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy (Lakewood/St. Edward) led the team with one save. 

Earlham Leaders (2-4-1)

  • Tyler Smith led with five saves.

First Half (1-0, BW)

  • Surowicz started the scoring with an unassisted goal right outside the box.
  • BW led the half with 14 shots while holding Earlham to three shots.
  • The Yellow Jackets had six corner kick opportunities.
  • The Quakers led with six saves.

Second Half (5-0, BW)

  • Surowicz started the scoring in the second half off a free kick.
  • Hamm scored an unassisted goal off a rebound.
  • Surowicz got his final goal of the game off a pass from McCauley.
  • Kieres scored the final goal of the game when he scored from the corner off a corner kick.
  • BW led the half with 18 shots compared to the one shot for Earlham.
  • The Yellow Jackets had nine corner kick opportunities.
  • BW led the half with one save.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, September 25th when they travel to Bluffton to take on Bluffton University at the Sears Complex at 3:00 p.m.
