STEVE HAGEN enters his sixth season as the pitching coach at Baldwin Wallace baseball in 2019-2020. He assists 10th-year Head Coach Brian Harrison will all aspects regarding pitching.

In his first five seasons at BW, Hagen has helped the Yellow Jackets post five 20+-win seasons and a 136-80 record with a .630 winning percentage while playing one of the toughest schedules in Division III. He also has helped BW reach the NCAA Division III National Tournament in 2015, 2018 and 2019. Hagen also helped the Yellow Jackets advance to the 2016 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Game, win the OAC Tournament title in 2018 and win an OAC regular season co-title a year ago!

"Steve Hagen is an outstanding person and pitching coach," said Harrison. "He knows the mechanics of pitching and is a fine teacher and role model for our student-athletes. Steve is a huge asset to the BW Baseball Family."

Hagen is a 2014 graduate of The College of Wooster. A four-year letterman at Wooster, Hagen helped the Fighting Scots compile a four-year mark of 111-62 and earn North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) titles in 2012 and 2013. Individually, he compiled a 25-15 career mark with seven saves. He was a three-time All-NCAC selection and was tabbed to the 2013 NCAA Division III All-Mideast Regional squad. Hagen also was an NCAC Honor Roll selection.

Hagen also is no stranger to high-level competition during the summer. He played in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League for the Grand Lakes Mariners (Celina, Ohio) in 2012, Northwoods League for the La Crosse (Wisc.) Loggers in 2013 and Frontier League for the Southern Illinois Miners in 2014.

In addition to his exploits on the field, Hagen graduated cum laude from Wooster with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and was a finalist for an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. He was an outstanding student who compiled a 3.63 grade point average in mathematics and business economics. Hagen also was a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Honor Society for Economics and was the secretary of the Economics Club.

Hagen is a graduate of Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School and resides in Brecksville.
