Baseball Recognizes Eight Senior Student-Athletes

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University Athletic Department and baseball program would like to congratulate senior student-athletes Clay Anderson, Maxwell Cebulak, Bijan Kamalipour, Alex Ludwick, Kevin McSweeney, Brandon Skory, Steve Spidell, and Drew Wilson on completing their outstanding athletic careers at the University.

            The University administration, faculty and staff would like to congratulate of these student-athletes' on their hard work, dedication, leadership, and commitment to the program. These young men have had solid careers not only athletically but academically as well. The University also would like to wish each of you all the best of luck in your future endeavors and hope that even after graduation you come back and visit us often. You will always be a Yellow Jacket for Life (YJ4L).

Anderson is a right-handed pitcher and an adolescent and young adult education and history double major from Broadview Heights, Ohio, and a graduate of Trinity High School. Off the field, he is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta and Kappa Delta Pi honoraries for history and education. After graduation, Clay plans on getting hired as a history teacher at middle or high school level and to get into coaching football and baseball. Clay is the son of Tom and LeAnna Anderson.

 

 

 

 

Cebulak is a right-handed pitcher and a chemistry major from Oakmont, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School. Upon graduation, Maxwell plans on pursuing a Master's Degree in Perfusion. Maxwell is the son of Michael and Caryn Cebulak.

 

 

 

 

 

Kamalipour is an outfielder and a biology major from Frisco, Texas, and a graduate of Jesuit College Preparatory School. Bijan is a Dean's List student and the 2021 Guy Fisher team award winner. He says, not only do they get a break from the snow, but his mom has the chance to come watch him play. He plans on attending medical school after graduation. Bijan is the son of Sia and Belinda Kamalipour.

 

 

  

    

Ludwick is a business administration major and marketing & entrepreneurship minor from Brunswick, Ohio, and a graduate of Padua Franciscan High School. Alex is an ABCA/Rawlings All-American, D3baseball.com All-Region player, ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selection, 3x First Team All-OAC shortstop, a 2x OAC All-Tournament recipient, and a Dean's list student. He was the OAC Freshman of the Year in 2018 and has been awarded the BW Gold Glove Award in 2019, the BW Big Stick Award in 2021, and was named the Most Outstanding Senior Male Athlete this year. Alex currently holds the BW All-Time record in Most Games Played/Started, At-Bats, RBIs, Runs, Hits, Singles, Doubles, and Triples and was the single season record holder Doubles this year and in Triples last season. Upon graduation, Alex plans on pursuing baseball professionally and to have a career in the marketing field. Alex is the son of Lisamarie Ludwick.

 

 

McSweeney is a utility player and business administration major from Seven Hills, Ohio, and a graduate of Trinity High School. Upon graduation, he intends on pursuing a Master's Degree in Business at BW. Kevin is the son of Jeff and Dina McSweeney.

 

 

 

 

   

Skory is a right-handed pitcher and chemistry major from Parma, Ohio, and a graduate of Valley Forge High School. Off the field, Brandon is a co-author of a published scientific journal. After graduation, he plans on pursuing a career in Pharmacy by attending Northeast Ohio Medical University. Brandon is the son of Marc Skory and Dawn Turner.

 

 

    

 

 

Spidell is a right-handed pitcher and sport management graduate student from Mount Eaton, Ohio, and a graduate of Waynedale High School and the College of Wooster. Upon graduation, Steve plans on continuing to work for the Cleveland Guardians. Steve is the son of Scott and Jill Spidell.

 

 

 

 

 

Wilson is a management and innovation major from Sagamore Hills, Ohio, and a graduate of Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy High School. Drew was an ABCA/Rawlings All-Region honoree this season, is a 2x All-OAC utility player, and was a Brockport (N.Y.) NCAA All-Regional Tournament team selection. After graduating, Drew plans on applying to be a construction project manager. Drew is the son of Joe and Betsey Wilson.
