Kenny Janosko (Mentor) and junior football punter
Matt Harmon (Canfield) have been chosen as Ohio
Athletic Conference Players-of-the-Week.
Janosko won his award for placing eighth of 376
total runners at last Saturday's Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology Gibson Family Pre-National Meet in Terre Haute, Indiana
as he covered the 8K course in 25:45.1 overall. Janosko, also the
2011 OAC Co-Cross Country Runner of the Year, has led BW in all
five of its meets this season.
The men's and women's cross country teams are back in action this
Saturday, Oct. 13 when they travel to Oberlin, Ohio to participate
at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Meet at 10:30 a.m.
Harmon earned his honor for his efforts as the
Yellow Jacket punter in last Saturday's 22-20 victory at Ohio
Northern University. He punted six times for a 37.2-yard average
with a long punt of 50 yards and had two of his punts land inside
the ONU 5-yard line with one at the 2-yard line and one at the
4-yard line. A year ago, Harmon led the OAC with
21 punts landing inside the opposition's 20-yard line.
The 23rd-ranked (AFCA Division III national poll) football team,
4-1 overall and 3-1 in the OAC, is home this Saturday, Oct. 13 and
hosts OAC foe Wilmington College on Homecoming on Tressel Field in
The George Finnie Stadium at 2:00 p.m. BW's game will be
televised by SportsTime Ohio.
