Michael Durkin Joins BW Sports Information Staff

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Director of Sports Information Kevin Ruple has announced that Michael Durkin will join the Office of Sports Information as a Sports Information Assistant for the 2015-16 season.  

Durkin will serve as the contact for the Yellow Jacket  men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. He will also assist with the other 17 Yellow Jacket teams.

Durkin, a native of Jeffersonville, New York, comes to BW after earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in sports management from Alfred State (N.Y.) University as well as serving a sports information intern at Houghton (N.Y.) College during his final semester.

While at Houghton,  he was the primary contact for Highlander baseball, men’s and women’s lacrosse and softball teams.  Durkin also worked closely with the other 12 intercollegiate teams.

At Alfred State, he worked in the sports information office for two years and assisted with all aspects in covering the Pioneer’s 16 intercollegiate teams.  He was member of the Pioneer baseball team, the sport management club and the student athletic advisory committee.

Durkin is an active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
