Women’s Cross Country Finishes 13th at Inter-Regional Rumble

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team finished in 13th place at the annual Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College on the Oberlin Cross Country Course.

BW placed 13th of 33 teams with a total of 399 points.  Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University was the team champion with 122 points.

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC performer Alyssa Laughner (Howard, Pa./Central Mountain) as she placed fifth of 306 runners in a time of 22:17.4 Freshman Hope Murphy (Mogadore) crossed the line in 10th place in a time of 22:49.2.  Freshman Cassie Kolonchuk (Canal Winchester) finished 123rd in a time of 25:01.7.  Sophomore Academic All-OAC performer Maddie Miller (Medina) was 153rd in a time of 25:28.9.  Closing out the team scoring was Ellie Burns (Louisville, Ky./Assumption) as she finished in 159th place in a time of 25:36.4.   

Also competing in the 6k race were freshman Cori Wentz (Mansfield/Ontario) and freshman Katlynn Wald (Parma/Normandy).  Wentz finished in 164th place in a time of 25:42.0 and Wald was 169th in a time of 25:48.3.

BW is back in action on Saturday, October 30 when it travels to Wilmington to compete in the OAC Championships hosted by Wilmington College.  

The NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regionals will be run on Saturday, November 13 at the Blue River Park in Shelbyville, Indiana.
