Women’s Cross Country Finishes 30th at 47th Lehigh Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -  The Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team competed in the Lehigh Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University (Pa.) at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course. 

BW competed in the Brown Race, which featured an eight-kilometer racecourse. The Brown Race was considered an open of institutions ranging across all collegiate divisions. 

In the Brown Race, the Yellow Jackets managed to place 30th out of 39 teams, scoring 750 points. There was a total of 342 runners in the Brown Race. University of Miami (Fla.) took home the team title with 70 points.

Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets for the third meet in a row was junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection Alyssa Laughner (Howard, Pa./Central Mountain) as she placed 22nd in the 6k event at 22:07.3. Freshmen Hope Murphy (Mogadore) finished in 45th place in 22:17.3. Freshmen Cori Wentz (Mansfield/Ontario) finished with a time of 24:52.7 in 261th place. Sophomore Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection Maddie Miller (Medina) with a time of 24:58.9 in 267th place. Rounding out the top five was freshman Ellie Burns (Louisville, Ky. / Assumption) as she placed 280th with a time of 25:11.0. 

BW will return to the course on Saturday, October 16th when it travels to Oberlin to compete in the Inter-Regional Rumble on Oberlin College Cross Country Course; hosted by Oberlin College.
