Women’s Cross Country Opens 2021 Season at Unscored Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team opened the 2021 season in the annual College of Wooster Invitational on the L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course.

BW was led in the 4K event by freshmen Jaelyn Jaquay (Cherry Valley, N.Y. / Springfield Central)  as she placed 21st in a time of 16:51.4 in her collegiate debut. In addition, freshman Jensen Wolfe (Somerset / Sheridan) also making her collegiate running debut, finished in 26th place with a final time of 16:56.6.

Rounding out the top five runners for the Yellow Jackets were freshmen Cassie Kolonchuk (Canal Winchester), Maura Devine (Baden, Pa. / Ambridge Area) and Ellie Burns (Louisville, Ky. / Assumption) finished behind one another.  Kolochuk took 29th place with a time of 17:10.0, Devine in 30th place with a time of 17:11.2 and Burns finishing 31st in 17:13.5 in their first ever college performances.

BW will return to the race course on Saturday, September 11, to compete in the Wittenberg Invitational at the Clark County Fairgrounds; Springfield, Ohio.
