Women's Cross Country Places 11th at All-Ohio Championships

CEDARVILLE, Ohio. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team finished 11th at the annual All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville University on the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.

The All-Ohio Championships consist of colleges and universities from NCAA Division I, II and III as well as NAIA and Junior College institutions.   The top-35 runners in each divisional race earn All-Ohio accolades.

BW placed 11th of 17 Division III teams and was 28th of 43 combined teams with 291 points.  Otterbein University was the Division III Champion with 51 points.

The Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit), who earned her second straight All-Ohio honor, as she placed 11th of 118 Division III runners and was 63rd of 296 total runners as ran the 6K course in a time of 23:14.9.  Freshman Bella Pendola (Warsaw/River View) finished 47th in the Division III race and was 134th overall in a career-best 6K time of 24:30.1 Sophomore Hannah Fredriksen (Hamburg, N.Y.) took 63rd in the Division III race and finished 164th overall in a season-best 6K time of 24:58.2.  Freshman Claire Makowski (Bethel Park, Pa.) placed 80th against Division III and was 199th overall in a career-best 6K time of 25:36.5.  Freshman Hannah Nagy (Belmont/Linsly) finished 90th in the Division III race and was 213th overall in a career-best 6K time of 25:53.0.
 
BW is back in action on Saturday, October 15 when it travels to nearby Oberlin to compete in the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College at 10:30 a.m.
