BEREA, Ohio – Freshman All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) and the Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team have been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with Division III Academic honors.

To receive this honor, a team must maintain a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or higher while an individual must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective regional.

"This is a great award to receive for our team and for Kelly," said first-year head coach Joe Eby.  "This is a goal we set at the beginning of every season.  I think it shows the level of dedication our student-athletes show in the classroom and out on the course."

The Yellow Jackets had a team GPA of 3.10.

Brennan carries a perfect 4.0 GPA in business.  She finished fourth at the OAC Championships and was 24th at the Great Lakes Regional Championships.  Brennan also earned All-Ohio honors with her fifth place finish at the All-Ohio Division III Championships.   She had a career-best 6K time of 19:32.4 at Ohio Wesleyan University on September 2.
