Women's Volleyball Drops Conference Opener Against Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's volleyball team fell to Marietta College by a score of 3-0 in its first Ohio Athletic Conference matchup of the season inside Ban Johnson Arena. 

BW Leaders (7-8, 0-1 OAC)

  • Sophomore outside hitter Gabby Schlecht (Naperville, Ill./North) led the team in kills with nine while also recording seven digs 
  • Senior All-OAC setter Olivia Zawadzki (Hilliard/Darby) recorded 16 assists while sophomore setter Katarina Blazetic (DeLand, Fla) added 11 while also contributing seven digs
  • Senior All-OAC libero Lauren Gardner (Avon/Saint Joseph Academy) recorded 13 digs in her first game back from injury

Marietta Leaders (6-7, 1-0 OAC)

  • Sophomore setter Emory Spitler recorded 30 assists and added six digs
  • Junior outside hitter Mia Silva had a team-high nine kills
  • Sophomore defensive specialist Keira Shannon had led the team in digs with 10
