Registration Now Open for 2018 Yellow Jacket Summer Volleyball Camps

BEREA, Ohio --  The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball programis offering a great volleyball experience with its three summer camp programs.

Held on the campus of the Baldwin Wallace in the Ursprung Gymnaisum inside the Lou Higgins Center, BW volleyball camps offer a variety of options for different levels of players.

Setting up the 2018 summer camp program will be the Elite prospect camp on Monday, July 9.  This camp is open to experienced athletes enrolled in grades 10-12, and designed to give players an opportunity to experience a NCAA training environment, focusing on speed of play, technique, and both individual and team tactics. The goal of the Elite Camp is to provide adequate preparation for high school and collegiate athletics.  The cost of the camp is $35 per athlete.

From July 11-13, the team will host an All Skills Camp for both overnight and commuter participants.  This camp is open to all players entering 5th-9th grade.  Instruction will cover all aspects of the game.  Cost of the all skills camp is $325 for overnight campers and $225 for commuters.  All overnight campers will be supervised at all times by the camp coaching staff.  A $50 non-refundable security deposit is required for all campers.

The final camp of the summer is the Team Camp from July 13-15 for both overnight and commuter participants.  The team camp is open to all players in grades 10-12. Skills and technique training via competitive 6 on 6 drills and games. Each team will be assigned one staff coach to instruct and facilitate sessions. Tournament during the final camp session. Cost of the team camp is $290 for overnight campers and $195 for commuters. All overnight campers will be supervised at all times by the camp coaching staff.  A $50 non-refundable security deposit is required for all campers.

Head Coach Scott Carter enters his fourth season with the Yellow Jackets in 2018. Last season, BW posted a record of 26-6, had three players named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference team and two student-athletes were named to the Academic All-OAC team.  In three seasons in Berea, Carter has amassed a record of 73-19 while mentoring 10 All-OAC players, seven Academic All-OAC student-athletes and the OAC Freshman of the Year.

Joining Carter's staff for the camps are associate head coach Brandon Thewes and assistant coaches Mike Thomas and Jeff McDivitt.   Thewes is entering his second straight season and third overall while Thomas will enter his third campaign and McDivitt his second.
