Volleyball Falls in Fifth Set at Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team dropped a five-set Ohio Athletic Conference match to Heidelberg University in the Seiberling Gymnasium.

Heidelberg (15-5, OAC 2-0) defeated BW (18-4, 1-1 OAC) by scores of 25-19, 13-25, 18-25, 25-23, and 10-15.

Offensively the Yellow Jackets were led by freshman outside hitter Alicia Lortcher (Norwalk), who tallied up 23 kills and senior outside hitter Anna Miley (West Salem/Northwestern) with 13 kills.

Freshman setter Ashley Nuding (Perrysburg /Springfield) set up the BW attack with 51 assists.

Defensively the Yellow Jackets were led by freshman defensive specialist Brittany Miner (Canton/Massillon Perry) who led the team with 20 digs. Lortcher  and junior All Arlayna Newcomer (Norwalk/St. Paul) added 14 digs.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action Saturday, October 10 when they travel to Marietta for an OAC match against Marietta College in the Ban Johnson Arena at 1 p.m.
