BW Volleyball Defeats Wooster for Second Time in 2014

WOOSTER, Ohio. – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team won its non-conference match against the College of Wooster in four sets inside the Timken Gymnasium.  This was the second meeting of the between BW and Wooster with the Yellow Jackets winning both matches.
 
BW (9-6) knocked off the Fighting Scots (4-10) by scores of 25-16, 25-21, 17-25 and 25-23 .  The Yellow Jackets and Wooster met earlier this season at the Marcia French Invitational winning that meeting in four sets.
 
Senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference right side hitter Alayna Chlad (Kent/Roosevelt) and junior outside hitter Anna Miley (West Salem/Northwestern) led the BW offensive attack with a game-high tying 13 kills apiece. Senior Katie Primeau (Pemberville/Eastwood) set up the offense with a game-high 36 assists.
 
Sophomore libero Arlayna Newcomer (Norwalk/St. Paul) led the Yellow Jacket defense with a game-high 21 digs.   Freshman outside hitter Melissa Metz (Medina/Our Lady of Elms) contributed 11.
 
BW next travels to Bluffton on Friday and Saturday, September 19 and 20 to compete in the annual Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and Ohio Athletic Conference Challenge hosted by Bluffton University. The Yellow Jackets open up competition on Friday against Transylvania (Ky.) University and Hanover (Ind.) College at 4 and 8 pm.
