BEREA, Ohio – Sophomore libero Arlayna Newcomer (Norwalk/St. Paul) has been named to the 2014 All-Ohio Athletic Conference team as an honorable mention selection.   Newcomer garners her first career All-OAC honor.

This season, Newcomer was the team captain and played in and started all 30 matches.   She led the team and was second in the OAC with a career-high 660 digs and was the team leader with career-best 50 service aces.   Newcomer also recorded a career-high 20 assists.

As a freshman, she appeared in 24 matches and had 11 assists, 25 service aces and 288 digs.

For her career, Newcomer has appeared in 54 matches and has 31 assists, 75 service aces and 948 digs.

Off the court, Newcomer is an excellent student as she carries a 3.52 grade point average in business administration.   She is a Dean's List student and is a candidate for Academic All-OAC this season.
