BW Volleyball Sweeps Marietta in Straight Sets

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team won a three-set Ohio Athletic Conference match against Marietta College in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.  The win was BW's seventh in its last 10 matches and second in three OAC contests.

The Yellow Jackets (14-9, 2-1 OAC) defeated the Pioneers (9-13, 1-3 OAC) by scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-16.

Junior outside hitter Anna Miley (West Salem/ Northwestern) led the BW offensive attack with a game-high 10 kills.  Senior Academic All-OAC right side hitter Alayna Chlad (Kent/ Roosevelt) added eight and freshman outside hitter Lauryn Wright (Orrville) had seven.

Senior Katie Primeau (Pemberville/ Eastwood) and sophomore Sydney Robinson (Silver Lake/ Cuyahoga Falls) set up the offense with 18 and 14 assists, respectively.

Sophomore libero Arlayna Newcomer (Norwalk/ St. Paul) led the defense with a game-best 22 digs.

BW is back in action on Tuesday, October 14 when it travels to Alliance for an OAC match with No. 6-ranked University of Mount Union in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex (MAAC) at 7 p.m. Fans can follow the action live at http://tinyurl.com/bwmtuvolley. The next home match is on Saturday, October 18 when the Yellow Jackets host Wilmington College in an OAC match in the Ursprung Gym at 1 p.m.
