BW Volleyball Falls to Case Western Reserve

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team lost to cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University in three sets in the Ursprung Gymnasium.  Tonight's match was the final non-conference match of the 2014 season.

The Yellow Jackets (12-8) lost to the Spartans (9-4) by scores of 19-25, 15-25 and 16-25.

Senior Academic All-OAC right side hitter Alayna Chlad (Kent/Roosevelt) led the BW offensive attack with eight kills. Senior middle hitter Markema Winters (Akron/Firestone) and junior outside hitter Anna Miley (West Salem/Northwestern) both recorded five kills.

Senior Katie Primeau(Pemberville/Eastwood) and sophomore Sydney Robinson (Silver Lake/Cuyahoga Falls) set up the offense with 16 and 10 assists respectively.

Sophomore libero Arlayna Newcomer (Norwalk/St. Paul) led the defense with 28 digs.  Freshman outside hitter Melissa Metz (Medina/Our Lady of the Elms) recorded 10 and Miley contributed eight digs.

BW is back in action on Friday, October 3 begins its OAC portion of the schedule when it travels to Muskingum University at 7 p.m.  The next home match is on Tuesday, October 7 when the Yellow Jackets host Heidelberg University in an OAC match in the Ursprung Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
