SALISBURY, MARYLAND--  Head Coach Vicki Brault won her 400th and 401st career matches tonight (Friday, September 14, 2012) as the Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team won a pair of matches on the first day of the Sea Gull Classic hosted by Salisbury (Md.) University.

Brault becomes the fifth coach in Ohio Athletic Conference history to win at least 400 career matches. In 21 seasons overall as a head coach, she has a 401-289 career mark, including a 328-237 mark in 18 seasons at BW. Her 328 wins at BW trails only the legendary Marcia French's '63 school-record of 447.

With the victories, the Yellow Jackets improved to 5-7 overall.  Centenary (N.J.) falls to 3-9 overall and DeSales (Pa.) is now 4-8.

In their versus Centenary, the Yellow Jackets won in straight sets by scores of 25-9, 25-13 and 25-21. Leading the way on offensive was junior middle hitter Kayla Harris (Lima) with 11 kills and senior outside hitter Amanda Sawicki (Mentor/Lake Catholic) with seven. Setting up the offense was junior Emily Nagle (Columbia Station/Columbia) who had 18 set assists and sophomore Katie Primeau (Pemberville/Eastwood) contributed nine. On defense, senior libero Natalie Emmons (Ashland) led with 15 digs while freshman outside hitter Savannah Moore (Burbank/ Northwestern) added eight. 

In its match with DeSales, BW once again won in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-22 and 25-14. Leading the way on offensive was Sawicki with 11 kills and Harris and Moore each added 10. Setting up the offense again was Nagle who had career-high 31 set assists. On defense, Emmons led the way with 20 digs. Nagle contributed a career-best 19, junior right side hitter Shannon Deleur (Olmsted Falls) added 16 and sophomore defensive specialist Paige Pileski (Elyria) tallied 11 digs.

Following tomorrow's action, BW will remain on the road next week when it travels to New Concord, Ohio to open Ohio Athletic Conference play against Muskingum University on Wednesday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m.  The Yellow Jackets are on the road next weekend September 21-22 when they travel to Lexington, Kentucky to take part in the OAC and Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Challenge hosted by Transylvania University.   BW will face Hanover (Ind.) College and the College of Mount St. Joseph on Friday and Bluffton and Transylvania on Saturday.
