BEREA, OHIO --Baldwin Wallace University announces the addition of Marcela Nicolae to its 2012 Yellow Jacket coaching staff.
"We welcome Marcela to our athletics family at Baldwin Wallace University," said BW Director of Athletics Kris A. Diaz. "Each one brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and experience to our volleyball program and will be valuable asset to Coach Brault and our student-athletes. We look forward to working with each of them."
"Marcela are going to bring passion and energy to the program," said Brault, who enters her 22nd season overall and 18th at BW with 397 career victories. "Marcela will be a great addition to our program, and I am excited and looking forward to working with her."
Nicolae comes to the University after graduating with a bachelor's degree in physical education and Sports University from "Dunarea de Jos Galati" located in Romania. In Romania, she played club volleyball for LPS Braila (1988-1994), CSU Galati (1994-1998) and Braiconf Braila (1998-2003). Prior to coming to BW, Nicolae worked as a physical education teacher for k-12, where she coached high school and middle school volleyball. Following her teaching career, Nicolae accepted the coaching job for the CSU Metal Galati.
The Yellow Jacket volleyball team opens preseason camp on Monday, August 20 and begins play on August 31 - September 1 when they travel to Claremont, California to play at the Pacific Coast Classic, hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College. The home opener is on Wednesday, September 5 when BW hosts Oberlin College in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in The Lou Higgins Center in Berea at 7:00 p.m.
