TIFFIN, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University
volleyball team lost in straight sets to host Heidelberg
University, 3-0, in an Ohio Athletic Conference match in the
Seiberling Gymnasium. The scores of the match were 25-10,
25-18 and 25-21.
With its loss, BW is now 9-15 overall and 1-3 in the OAC.
Heidelberg is now 16-6 overall and 4-1 in the OAC.
BW was led offensively by senior All-OAC middle hitter
Rachel Switalski (North Royalton/ Holy Name) with
10 kills. Senior All-OAC outside hitter Amanda
Sawicki (Mentor/ Lake Catholic) added nine and junior
middle hitter Kayla Harris (Lima) contributed
seven. Junior setter Emily Nagle (Columbia
Station/ Columbia) set up the offense and had a match-high 32 set
assists.
Defensively, BW was led by senior libero Natalie
Emmons (Ashland) with a match-high 14 digs. Junior outside
hitter and defensive specialist Taylor Burns
(Tiffin / Fostoria St. Wendelin) and Nagle each
tallied eight digs.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, October 13 when
they host OAC-rival Wilmington College on Homecoming in the
Ursprung Gymnasium at 12:00 p.m.
