Volleyball Falls to Case Western Reserve in Four Sets

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team was defeated by Case Western Reserve University in four sets, 3-1, by scores of 20-25, 25-12, 25-19 and 25-15 in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 8-12 overall and the Spartans improves to 12-3.

BW was led offensively by senior outside hitter Amanda Sawicki (Mentor/ Lake Catholic) with 14 kills. In addition to Sawicki, senior middle hitter Rachel Switalski (North Royalton/ Holy Name) and junior middle hitter Colleen Bonacci (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) each contributed four kills apiece. Junior Emily Nagle (Columbia Station/Columbia) set up the offense as she had 33 set assists.

Defensively, BW was led by senior libero Natalie Emmons (Ashland) with 18 digs and junior outside hitters Shannon Deleur (Olmsted Falls) and Taylor Burns (Tiffin/ Fostoria St. Wendelinn) each recorded 10. 

BW will remain at home, as this Friday, September 28 it hosts Ohio Athletic Conference rival Otterbein University at 7:00 p.m. The Yellow Jackets will ends there three-match home stand against NCAA Division II Notre Dame College on Wednesday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m.
