Women's Tennis Secures Two OAC Victories

MASON, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team defeated their Ohio Athletic Conference competitors, Muskingum University and Marietta College, 8-1 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center courts.

BW vs. Muskingum

BW (3-11, 3-2 OAC) was led by the duo of senior two-time All-OAC Imani Robinson (Cincinnati/School for Creative and Performing Arts) and sophomore All-OAC Jayde Robinson (Cincinnati/School for Creative and Performing Arts), as they won the first doubles match with an 8-0 ledger. Sophomore Ashtyn Morris (Salem) and junior Becca Liebler (Medina) secured second doubles with a score of 8-1. Closing out third doubles by a score of 8-0 was senior Kathleen Moser (Strongsville) and sophomore Emma Hubbard (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon High School).

In singles action, Jayde Robinson won first singles with consecutive 6-0 scores. Morris seized second singles with 6-0 and 6-1 scores. Moser was victorious in fourth singles with scores of 6-1 and 6-2. Liebler won fifth singles with back-to-back 6-0 scores, before Hubbard wrapped up sixth singles with 6-0 scores, to seal the 8-1 conference victory.

BW vs. Marietta

The Yellow Jackets opened with an 8-1 victory in the first doubles by the duo of Jayde Robinson and Imani Robinson. Morris and Liebler secured second doubles with an 8-0 line.

Jayde Robinson opened singles action with consecutive 6-0 scores in the first singles match. Morris won second singles with scores of 6-0 and 6-1. Imani Robinson was victorious in third singles after falling in the first set, 4-6, battled back to win the second set 6-2, and won the tie-breaker 10-4. Grabbing the fourth singles was Moser, after her opponent retired in the first set. Liebler and Hubbard won fifth and sixth singles with 6-0 scores.

BW will open a two-game road trip with an OAC contest with Heidelberg University on Wednesday, April 17 at 4 p.m. The Yellow Jackets will conclude their trip with a non-conference matchup with Franciscan University on Tuesday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m.
