MEADVILLE, Pennsylvania – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team finished second at the season-opening Nancy J. Heath Invitational hosted by Allegheny College.
Against Allegheny, BW won two doubles matches and four singles matches to secure the win. Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Imani Robinson (Cincinnati / School for Creative & Performing Arts) and freshman Sydney Bergman (North Canton/Hoover) won at first doubles by a score of 8-3. Freshmen Liz Radkiewicz (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) and Emily Danhert (Charlottesville, Va. /The Covenant School) picked up the victory at second doubles by a score of 8-5. Bergman won at first singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-2. Robinson earned the victory at second singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-4. Radkiewicz took the win at fourth singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-3. Junior Kelly Peskura (Strongsville) won at sixth singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-1.
In the match with Westminster, the Yellow Jackets won one doubles and one singles match. The second doubles team of Danhert and Radkiewicz won by a final score of 8-6. Bergman won the lone singles match as she took first singles by scores of 6-1, 1-6 and 11-9.
BW closes out the fall portion of its schedule when it travels to nearby Oberlin on September 9-11 when it travels to nearby Oberlin to compete in the Oberlin College Invitational on the Don Hunsinger Tennis Courts.
