Women’s Tennis Drops OAC Match to Ohio Northern

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score of 6-3 versus Ohio Northern University on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.  

Ohio Northern (15-2, 4-1 OAC) took all three doubles matches from BW (11-9, 3-3) to lead 3-0.

The Yellow Jackets three of six matches, including the final three matches on the courts.  Junior Claire Watts (Medina/Highland) took third singles by scores of 6-0, 4-6 and 6-3 as she improved to 10-12 on the season.   Senior Mackenzie Donalson (Hilliard/Davidson) improved her team-best record to 15-5 as she captured fourth singles by scores of 6-4 and 7-5. Sophomore Kelly Peskura (Strongsville) earned the win at fifth singles by scores of 7-5 and 6-4 and upped her record to 10-8 in her first season. 

BW is back in action on Saturday, April 23 when it travels to Bexley for an OAC match against Capital University on the Capital Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.  The Yellow Jackets close the regular season portion of their schedule on Saturday, April 30 when they host a Seniors' and Parents' Day and OAC match against Muskingum University at 1 p.m.

The 2016 OAC Tournament is scheduled to begin with quarterfinal matches on Wednesday, May 4 on the campus of the highest seeds at 3:30 p.m.   The OAC Tournament semifinal and championship matches will be played on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 at the Linder Tennis Family Center in Mason.
