Two BW Women’s Tennis Players Named All-OAC

BEREA, Ohio – Two Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis student-athletes, junior number-one singles and doubles player Kelsey Blatt (Tallmadge) and sophomore No.2 singles and doubles player Claire Watts (Medina), have been named to the 2015 All-Ohio Athletic Conference women's tennis team. This is the third straight year for Blatt and the first for Watts. Both also are outstanding students.

Blatt, who majors in communication disorders, was a second-team pick for the third straight season. She carries a 3.53 grade point average and also is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection. This season, Blatt had a 7-19 singles mark at No.1 and combined with sophomore Mackenzie Donalson (Hilliard/ Davidson) for a 10-16 mark at No.1 doubles. She will carry a 28-49 singles and 33-36 doubles record into her senior season.

Watts, who majors in sistainability, was an honorable mention selection. She carries a 3.682 grade point average and is a Dean's List student. This season, Watts had an 8-17 record in singles and combined with fellow junior Mackenzi Baker (Vermilion/ Elyria Catholic) for a 6-18 slate at No.2 doubles. She also was named as an OAC Player of the Week on March 30. Watts will carry a 19-34 career singles and 17-36 career doubles slate into her junior season.

The BW women's tennis team has won three of the past nine OAC regular season titles and four of the past nine OAC Tournament crowns and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Tournament four times.
