BW Women’s Tennis Drops Regular Season Finale to John Carroll

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team ended its regular season with an 9-0 Ohio Athletic Conference defeat to cross-town rival John Carroll University on the Martine Vila Tennis Courts on the campus of Hathaway Brown High School.

The Blue Streaks (11-6, 6-1 OAC) swept all three doubles matches and took all six singles matches from the Yellow Jackets (5-17, 4-4 OAC).

In doubles play, the number one team of junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC player Kelsey Blatt (Tallmadge) and Mackenzie Donalson (Hilliard/Davidson) and the number two tandem of sophomore Claire Watts (Medina/Highland) and junior Academic All-OAC player Mackenzi Baker (Vermilion/Elyria Catholic) each fell in hard fought 8-3 matches.

In the closest and hard fought singles play, Watts battled at number two singles but fell short by scores of 7-6 (7-3) and 7-5.

The OAC Tournament is set to begin on Tuesday, April 28 on the campus of the higher seed.  The semifinal and championship matches are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2 in Mason at the Linder Tennis Center.
