BW Women’s Tennis Loses to Catholic, 7-2, in Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis lost to the Catholic (Washington D.C.) University of America, 7-2, in its fifth and final match on its annual spring break trip to the Hilton Head (S.C.) Tennis and Beach Club. BW (1-9) had a 1-4 mark on the trip.

The Yellow Jackets won one of two doubles matches and trailed, 2-1, after doubles action. The number two duo of sophomore Claire Watts (Medina) and junior Mackenzi Baker (Vermilion/ Elyria Catholic) won by the score of 8-4.

In singles play, BW won one of six matches.  At number two singles, Watts won by the scores of 6-3 and 7-5. With its win, Catholic improves to 6-2 overall.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, March 21 when BW opens its home and Ohio Athletic Conference schedule against Capital University at the "Pop" Collins Tennis Complex at 1 p.m. BW also is at home to host a non-league match versus Adrian (Mich.) College on Friday, March 27 at 4 p.m.
