BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's tennis team opened its 2012 winter/ spring season today (Saturday, February 11) by losing at traditional rival Oberlin College, 8-1.

With its loss, B-W drops to 0-5 overall when combining its 0-4 fall 2011 record while Oberlin improved to 2-1 overall.

In singles play, junior Rebecca Mittler (Elyria/ Elyria Catholic) was the lone victor for the Yellow Jacket's defeating Oberlin's Grace Porter, 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles action, the team of Mittler and sophomore Morgan Baker (Vermilion /Elyria Catholic) fought hard for B-W, but came up short, 8-5, against the duo of Porter and Finley Gates.

The B-W women are back in action from March 3-10 when it travels to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for its annual Spring Break Trip.
