ADA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference road dual meet against Ohio Northern University inside the ONU Sports Center.
BW (8-5) fell to Ohio Northern to a final score of 123-95
The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Bella Ratino (Mentor/Hawken) won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:35.46 and placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:35.55
- Sophomore Athena Pantoja (Ashtabula/Lakeside) placed second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:06.42
- Junior Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.67 seconds
- Sophomore All-OAC Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor) won the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:58.78 and second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:04.23
- Junior Jami Melzer (Bradenton, Fla. / Lakewood Ranch) won the 1-meter dive with a total score of 99.95 points
- Junior Tia Reed (Bluffton, S.C.) won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:10.29 and placed second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 57.30 seconds
- Freshman Morgan Ingalls (Erie, Pa./ Harbor Creek) finished second in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:07.39
BW relays were highlighted by:
- The 200-yard freestyle relay squad of Slife, freshman Emily Kusar (Perry), sophomore Mattie Hicks (Oneida) and Pantoja placed second in a time of 1:50.55
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Ratino, Reed, senior Aubrey Syron (Dayton / Archbishop Alter) and Dondorfer placed second in a time of 2:00.25
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, January 27 when they close out the home portion of their schedule when they host a conference meet against John Carroll University at 6 p.m
