Women’s Swimming and Diving Defeats Hiram for Fourth Straight Win

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving teams won its fourt straight dual meet as it posted a 124-53 non-conference dual victory against Hiram College in the BW Natatorium.

BW was led by junior freestyler Jordyn Miller (Ann Arbor/Pioneer), sophomore stroker Sarah Krupp (Williamsville, N.Y. /Williamsville South), sophomore stroker Claire Onchuck (Darien, Ill. /Hinsdale South), sophomore diver Elizabeth Sant (Mount Vernon), freshman diver Ellie Clymer (Independence), freshman freestyler Olivia Jacob (Canton/McKinley), freshman freestyler Alyssa Mahle (Aurora), freestyler Olivia Plunkett (Haddonfield, N.J) and freshman freestyler Allie Thorson (Amherst/Marion L. Steele). 


Miller
won the 50-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 27.34. Krupp captured the 400-yard individual medley in a season-best time of 5:09.48. Onchuck took the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:12.46. Sant won the 1-meter diving competition as she scored 110.55 points in the five-dive event. Clymer won the 1-meter diving competition as she scored a career-best 145.85 points in the six-dive event.  Jacob took the 200-yard freestyle in a career-best time of 2:07.49 Mahle captured the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:03.36. Plunkett won the 100-yard butterfly in a career-best time of 1:11.77.   Thorson won the 1,650-yard freestyle in a career-best time of 19:13.75

In relay action, the 200-yard medley relay unit of Miller, junior freestyler Courtney Severns (Bucyrus), Krupp and sophomore Mackenzie Biastre (Eden, N.Y.) captured the victory in a season-best time of 2:04.18. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of junior freestyler Lena Kortis (Canton/Massillon Perry), Thorson, Miller and Onchuck in a season-best time of 1:47.60.

BW closes out its four meet homestand on Saturday, November 19 when it hosts an OAC dual meet against the University of Mount Union in the BW Natatorium at 1 p.m.   Fans can follow all of the results at http://homepages.bw.edu/~stats/swim/home/.
