AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – For the first time in her career, senior defender Kori Miller (North Olmsted/Holy Name) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

Playing forward in the team's 4-0 win in the conference opener against Marietta, Miller helped the Yellow Jackets get on the scoreboard with an assist on the game's first goal. The senior then found the back of the net herself, scoring in the 51st minute on her only shot of the game and finishing the afternoon with three points.

This season, Miller has appeared in and started all 11 games for the Yellow Jackets, five as a defender and six as a forward. She has scored two goals and added three assists for a total of seven points so far this season on only seven total shots.

In her career, Miller has appeared in 78 games, starting 54 of them, and scored four goals, seven assists and 15 points on 30 shots. During her freshman campaign in 2014, she was second on the team with a career-high eight points on two goals and four assists.

Miller and the rest of the Yellow Jackets will be back in action when they host the University of Mount Union on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
