Bender Earns First Career OAC Player-of-the-Week Honor

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer All-Ohio Athletic Conference sophomore forward Rachel Bender (Massillon / Massillon Jackson) earns her first career OAC Women's Soccer Player-of-the-Week honor for her strong play last week.

Bender scored three goals and added two assists for a total of eight points in the Yellow Jackets first three games of the 2016 campaign. BW won the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament and Bender was named the MVP of the tournament. She scored two goals and added two assists in the two games with the last goal being the game-winner in the championship game.  

In her young career, Bender has started in 23 games, scored 14 goals and tallied up five assists for 33 points. As a freshman she led the team with 11 goals and earned All-OAC first-team honors.

Bender and the Yellow Jackets are back in action tonight when they host Oberlin College in a non-conference game on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m.
