Women’s Soccer Game Versus Oswego State (N.Y.) Ends in a Draw at Fredonia

FREDONIA, New York—The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team and Oswego State niversity game ended in a, 1-1, draw on the final day of the Fredonia Blue Devil/Clarion Hotel Classic hosted by Fredonia State (N.Y.) University inside University Stadium.

BW (3-2-1) senior defender Kelly Gough (Hudson) and junior midfielder Anna Poptic (Dublin/Jerome) were both named to the All-Tournament team. The host Fredonia won the tournament with a 2-0 record this weekend.  

In the 88th minute of the game junior forward Jacquelyn Brown (Tallmadge) netted her first goal of the season to give BW a 1-0 lead. In the final minute of regulation Oswego (1-1-1) junior midfielder Alexa Restante scored an unassisted to close out the scoring.

Freshman goalkeeper Sophia Weidner (Medina) made a season-high tying nine saves for the Yellow Jackets.

BW is back in action on Wednesday, September 14 when they travel to Cleveland to play cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University on Disanto Field at 7:30 p.m.
