CLEVELAND, Ohio—The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team came from behind to defeat cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University, 2-1, in a non-conference game on DiSanto Field.

The two goal scorers for BW (4-2-1) were All-Ohio Athletic Conference senior defender Kelly Gough (Hudson) and All-OAC forward Rachel Bender (Massillon/Jackson).

Freshman forward Kimberly Chen Case scored the only goal for Case Western (3-1-1).

After a scoreless first half, where the Yellow Jackets were outshot 9-6, the Spartans got on the board first when Chen scored the lone Case Western goal in the 47th minute to make it 1-0. Gough tied the game up when she beat the Spartans goalkeeper with a direct kick from just outside the box at the 77:10 mark. In the 80th minute Bender closed out the scoring with her second game-winner of the year and was assisted by junior midfielder Anna Poptic (Dublin/Jerome).

Freshman goalkeeper Emma Bruno (Bethel Park, Pa.) made a season-high eight saves and improved to 2-2 this season.

BW is back in action on Saturday, September 17 when it hosts Bluffton University in the first game of women's and men's doubleheader on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium at 1 p.m.
