Women’s Soccer Overpowers Bluffton

BEREA, Ohio—The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team defeated Bluffton University, 5-0, in the first game of a women's and men's doubleheader on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.

BW (5-2-1) was led by, sophomore forward Rachel Bender (Massillon/Jackson) and junior midfielder Alex Elliott (Blacklick/IMG) each scored two goals. Bender also added an assist.

Freshman goalkeeper Courtney Davis made 10 saves for Bluffton (0-3).

The Yellow Jackets scored all five of its goals in the first half. Bender and Elliott combines for the first four goals of the game.  and junior forward Jacquelyn Brown (Tallmadge) scored her second goal at the 31:15 mark to close out the scoring.

Freshman goalkeeper Emma Bruno (Bethel Park, Pa.) picked up her third win of the season.

BW is back in action on Tuesday, September 20 when it hosts Carnegie Mellon University in a non-conference game on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m.
