Women’s Soccer Defeats Polar Bears in OAC Game

BEREA,Ohio—The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team defeated Ohio Northern University in an Ohio Athletic Conference contest, 2-0, Tuesday evening on Tressel Field inside of  The George Finnie Stadium.

In the 23rd minute BW (10-4-5, 4-1-3 OAC) took a, 1-0 lead, when freshman forward Rachel Bender (Massillon/Jackson) got behind the Ohio Northern (10-7-1, 6-2 OAC) defense, and scored her team-high 11th goal of the season. Sophomore forward Alex Elliott (Blacklick/IMG Academy) was credited with the assist.

After 45 minutes of both teams got four shots off and the Yellow Jackets led 1-0.

In the 52nd minute BW doubled its lead when Bender found Elliott who netted her seventh goal of the season.
 

Senior, All-OAC and All-OAC Academic, goalkeeper Emily Tallmadge (Fairview, Pa.) earned her fifth shutout of the season.

Senior defender Kadi Tucker (Mason) played in her 81st career game as a Yellow Jacket, which sets a new Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer record for career games played. 

The Yellow Jackets next game is on Friday, October 30 when they host Capital University on Seniors' and Parents' Night. The OAC contest is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. on Tressel Field inside of The George Finnie Stadium.
